Redesign of Support Portal and Knowledge Base

Introduction

As part of the rebranding process of Priority Software, I was tasked with designing “Priority Xpert”, the company’s support portal and knowledge base.

The Goal

The project aimed to enhance the site’s aesthetics, usability, and functionality, ultimately making it more user-friendly and efficient for users to access information and receive support.

Research Insights

Users from Generation Y and Generation Z took at least 3 courses on at least 2 platforms in the past two years.

Most users who enroll to online courses do not necessarily finish them all

People take online courses as part of training at work, for personal and professional development, and enrichment

The Challenge

At the project's outset, we identified several key challenges. The existing site was cluttered, unclear, and not user-friendly. Users encountered difficulties in locating relevant information and seeking assistance, leading to frustration and decreased site engagement.

The Original Design

The original design of the support portal and knowledge base posed significant challenges to users and the company alike. The cluttered layout and lack of intuitive navigation hindered users’ ability to access information seamlessly.

User-Centric Design

We introduced a dedicated section for select users, housing valuable resources and files. The interface was designed to be intuitive, presenting information in a clear and structured manner.

Key Takeaways

The re-designed portal has become an essential hub for information and support, empowering users to find what they need efficiently. User feedback indicates a markedly positive shift in their approach to and interaction with the site. The new section for the partners received positive feedback, and the improvements in navigation and user experience continue to draw users back to the site.
